Assistant/Associate/Professor of Surgery – General Surgery

The Indiana University School of Medicine’s Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery, is
actively recruiting a full-time general surgeon with foregut and bariatric surgical training to join the
faculty at the assistant or associate professor level. The ideal candidate should be comfortable
addressing complex surgical problems that are encountered at a tertiary/ quaternary medical center. In
this role you will have the opportunity to work with a collaborative group of surgeons and APPs
providing exceptional general surgery care within the Indianapolis area.

Clinical teaching is the mainstay of educational duties with opportunities to interact with medical
students, surgical residents, and fellows in the office, inpatient, and OR settings. In addition, there are
nonclinical didactic and simulation-based teaching opportunities offered in the Department of Surgery
Skills Lab.

Basic Qualifications:
-Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy
-American Board of surgery board eligible/board certified surgeon
-Ability to obtain IN licensure
-Valid, current passport and ability to travel internationally, nationally and locally
-Experience or training in an academic setting
-Experience working with diverse cultures and in underserved or under-resourced communities
